PS Shortcut Series – Zoom Shortcuts

Jul 25, 09 PS Shortcut Series – Zoom Shortcuts

In this tutorial I’ll show you some shortcuts for zooming in PS that come in handy and, as the Tool Shortcuts, they save a fair amount of time when working.

The most used shortcut is :

windows-vista-logo : Ctrl + plus(+) / minus(-)

Mac_Logo : Cmd + plus(+) / minus(-)

I think you’ve already figured out that plus(+) is for zooming in and minus(-) is for zooming out.

Now, the second shortcut is for “Actual Pixels” option(it’s also accessible if you right click in the window):

windows-vista-logo : Ctrl + 1

Mac_Logo : Cmd + 1

If you want to “Fit on Screen” you can do the following:

windows-vista-logo : Ctrl + 0

Mac_Logo : Cmd + 0

Finally, if you are viewing your document inside the actual window and you try to zoom in/ out, you’ll see that it zooms within the window; if you zoom in further you’ll get scrollbars. In order for you to resize the window as you zoom in/out you do the following:

windows-vista-logo : Ctrl + Alt + plus(+)/minus(-)

Mac_Logo : Cmd + Opt + plus(+)/minus(-)

So, these are the most frequently used shortcuts for zooming inside PS.Give a reply if you enjoyed the article.
